Associate attorney position available with Wood & Nathanson, LLP a small law firm concentrating on criminal defense. Located in downtown Boston, Wood & Nathanson’s primary focus is appellate criminal defense. Our practice also includes significant trial litigation. Our firm practices in the Massachusetts state and federal courts. A large portion of our practice involves the defense of homicide charges.

Duties for the associate attorney include legal research and writing responsibilities, client contact, witness interviews, and other aspects of zealous criminal defense. Associates are encouraged to accept their own cases as well as support the partners’ work. They are mentored by a partner.

Applicants should be organized and efficient, be willing to deal with difficult and serious cases, and have a demonstrated interest in criminal defense including some experience in trial practice, excellent research and writing skills, a strong academic background, strong computer skills, and strong client communication skills.

Compensation package includes health insurance, limited IRA matching contributions, and potential for bonuses based on performance.
